Heritage Open Day at Hereford Cathedral
Celebrate Heritage Open Day at Hereford Cathedral
Celebrate Hereford Cathedral’s amazing heritage by finding out more about the extraordinary women in its history. On Saturday 15th September there will be a family fun day, including the rare opportunity to see the beautiful Cloisters.
Find out more about the Extraordinary Women as part of the family fun day: see the Violet Plaques, which mark the history of women’s suffrage in Hereford, and have a go at designing your own; add your own inspirational figures to our Wall of Women; listen to our special story times (taking place hourly); go on our trail around the Close, discovering the stories of the Extraordinary Women from the Cathedral’s past; take part in themed craft activities; or play the Cathedral Piano, back for one day only!
There will also be special tours of the Cloisters, which aren’t usually open to the public. This is also a chance to visit the rarely seen 11th Violet Plaque.
All activities will take place in wheelchair accessible spaces; and a mix of written, spoken and sensory resources will be used to make the activities as accessible as possible.
No booking required.
Familiarisation visits can also be arranged and Social Stories can be sent.
