Steam-Up Tuesday: Christmas fun at the Waterworks Museum
At the start of the Christmas holidays the Waterworks Museum will be running a special open day on Tuesday 21 December with engines and pumps running, and some in-steam. (The Worth Mackenzie Triple steam engine will be undergoing winter restoration and won’t be in steam.)
There’s plenty for children too with the Frog Trail, the Story of Water quiz and the World War Two code-breaking game.
Open from 11am to 4pm. No need to book in advance – tickets available at the door. Free admission for under 16s.
For more information visit www.waterworksmuseum.org.uk or follow us @WaterworkMuseum.
The Waterworks Museum is a destination for steam and industrial history enthusiasts, as well as a family attraction, and includes an award-winning children’s Heritage Water Park. It tells the history of drinking water through working steam engines, interactive displays and hands-on activities, and when the engines are in-steam, visitors can experience the sights, sounds and smells of a bygone age.
